History
We, at Synergy Sansthan, have been working tirelessly since 2006 to empower communities. Founded by three young rural leaders from Madhya Pradesh, India, our passion lies in tackling critical social issues like education, healthcare, and fostering entrepreneurial growth. The NGO believes, if we can empower and organise the youth, they will eventually be able to uplift their families and the entire communities.
Over the years, we’ve made significant progress across various social fronts and created an impact by organising various camps and open house discussions with the communities. From the discussions we come across the another problem that relates to the decline in the demand of traditional bamboo craft products in the markets due to the advent of plastic-based products in the last decade. It predominantly affected the Banskar community which comes under Schedule Caste category and is deeply entangled in poverty.

We felt the urgent need to take proactive actions which can help the one of the most marginased section of the society. Thus, in order to achieve all the objectives of empowering the Banskar community, Synergy Sansthan applied to the SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries) Scheme, implemented by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The objective was to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), along the lines of a producer company.
Under this scheme, a grant of about 2.5 Cr has been provided to Synergy Sansthan to organise, collectivise and unite the bamboo artisans into a producer-led and producer-owned company. As a result a company named Synergy Gram & Shilp Kendra Producer Company Limited incorporated on 3rd May 2021, under section 8 of the Companies

Outlet on Wheels
The mobile outlet that was started on 26th January, 2023 is a unique initiative to bring the artists and their bamboo products to the forefront. It was inaugurated by Hon. Kamal Patel Ji, Agriculture Minister of Madhya Pradesh, in the presence of district collector, Mr Rishi Garg and SP Manish Agrawal. It also received a great response from people and has received recognition from local authorities and the media.
The motive behind starting this project was to not only provide livelihood to the artists but also to change the perspective of people regarding the Banskar community. The Banskar community is known for their excellent skills in making bamboo products and the mobile outlet is a way to show the world their talent and the potential of their products.
The mobile outlet is designed in such a way that it is easy to carry around and can be taken to different markets. This not only helps the artists to reach a wider audience but also gives the people an opportunity to see the products up close and understand the hard work and effort that goes into making them.

Taking the First Steps
As part of the MSME Ministry's initiative to enhance the skills of traditional craftspeople, Synergy Gram organized specialized training for 60 bamboo artisans at the Common Facility Centre, Uda. The training aimed to equip artisans with the know-how to craft contemporary items from bamboo. Throughout the program, artisans were immersed in learning various techniques and methods to create a range of products from this versatile material.
Upon the completion of the training, Mr. Vasim from the Aash Foundation in Indore commended the artisans for their exceptional skills during a meeting. Impressed by their craftsmanship, he placed an order for 25 bamboo national flags. This gesture not only validated the artisans’ capabilities but also presented them with an exciting opportunity to showcase their talent on a larger platform.
Filled with pride and enthusiasm at securing their inaugural order, the artisans of Synergy Gram dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to fulfilling the task. Their unwavering commitment and meticulous efforts ensured the successful completion of their first order, marking a significant milestone in their journey.
First Major Order
Synergy Gram and Shilp Kendra Producer Company achieved a remarkable feat by securing its inaugural substantial order in February 2023, for crafting hand fans that boast not only aesthetic appeal but also eco-friendliness and fashionable design. Throughout this project, the dedicated female workforce tirelessly and zealously labored day and night, culminating in the successful production of approximately 800 fans within a mere week. This accomplishment stood as a significant milestone for the company, marking the completion of its maiden major order.
The atmosphere was abuzz with activity as everyone involved contributed their utmost efforts. Secured through the B2B channel, this order exemplified the company’s growing presence and reputation in the market. These meticulously crafted fans were prominently featured at a prestigious corporate event, drawing the attention of over 10,000 attendees.
While the task of fulfilling this order was undeniably challenging, the experience proved immensely rewarding, yielding invaluable insights and lessons for all involved.
